I'm new to the program and received a packet containing an incentive.  It had fliers with red envelopes attached and submission cards.  The details were rather sparse, but from what I could read on the fliers and submission forms, the incentive is sponsored by Target.  For every 30 Box Tops submitted on the form, postmarked by 10/31, our school would receive a bonus 30 Box Tops.

Okay, so here are my questions:  Couldn't we just submit ANY Box Tops?  I'm working as our school's coordinator.  How am I to know which ones come from Target if they are not submitted in the red envelope?

There is a ton of info on the coordinators forum on this very topic.  It is the opinion of many that any box top would work.  Check out the other forum, just search "Target" and you will get more info than you ever thought you wanted!

How did you receive a packet? This is my second year, but I have to admit, I didn't learn much last year. Was the packet delivered to your home or you school? I haven't received anything.

You can use any box tops. Target is sponsering it in hopes of getting you into there store.

I spoke with someone at Box Tops Headquarters and she said, "it clearly states on the form that products have to be purchased form Target." I read from other parents that they don't, so I emailed Target directly to find out the rules. I will let you know what they say.

We had a similar problem this year as our coordinator name at box tops was not updated.  Each year you should log in as a coordinator and make sure the information is up-to-date.  There is an area for school address and coordinator address.  Make sure this info is correct first.  If there is a different address contact that coordinator as well as updating your info to see if they have received any info.

The form DOES NOT state that the box tops have to be purchased from target.  The form states, "Right now, Target can help you earn 30 extra Box Tops for your school!  Just look for Box Tops on dozens of products throughout the store."  It implies that they want you to buy from Target, but does not legally require you to.  Target is helping, but not THE ONLY store to purchase from.  ALSO, the submission form does not require additional documentation guaranteeing that the products were purchased at Target.  The Box Tops there are the same as at any store because they are distributed by the product NOT the store.  Remember that Target is not a Box Top Product.  This is simply a marketing tool in conjunction with Box Tops to increase sales.

Can we keep coordinator info to the coordinator forum ONLY PLEASE??
Parents don't really need to read all the stuff we coordinators deal with.
