Thank you for the welcome. It is important to me as well as any parent to be focused on our children's schools. I live in California, and as some parents know from other states, the govenor has decided to cut our school fundings. I feel it is my duty as a parent to step up a notch and try and raise as much money for my daughter's school as possible. I am taking charge of raising BOX TOPS for my daughter's school and I am enjoying every second of it. I am just a parent, but I feel that I am doing alot more then the govenor that we have now. Keep up the awesome job parents!!! Big Smile

RE: Welcome to the new Box Tops Parent Community!

Hi - I am newish to supporting Box Tops and am also frustrated with budget cuts. I recently discovered shopping on the Marketplace - I have actually let my 9 year old daughter shop LIMITED TOO for back to school! I let her load the shopping cart with all that she wants - then I go into the shopping cart and remove the items I won't be buying! I stay in budget and she gets to be "in control" of what she wants (and I do too!) and I am supporting her school at the same time! (and I didn't have to drive to the mall, buy a snack we didn't need....etc!)

I can't get the "NEW" to clear after I read the messages.  Is this a glitch?  I don't have time to keep reading the same things over and over.  Please advise how to get these to clear so I will know when there really is a "NEW" message.

    Thanks,  Jayde, Orlando, FL

I'm not sure if our government in Virginia has cut our budget but it sure does look like it. Before school starts we have a list of between 10 to 12 things that we need to bring in on or before school starts that "everybody" will be using in the classroom. Last year was our first experience with the school system and this year we were a bit more prepared but the list got longer and we have two going so it's a bit on the budget.  I like the idea of being able to help the school by clipping the Box Tops and by entering the contests. As a added bonus we also try to get the extended family involved.

    Thanks

    Leanne

Wow! This is great!  I used to be a coordinator at my last school for 2 1/2 years, and then I moved on to a new middle school and they already chose their BT coordinator.  I miss the forum and all the ideas.  I have e-mailed her and asked her if she needed any help.  I haven't heard from her yet.  BT is a great program, if we could all work together and let the public know that those little square dimes on boxes are worth something to schools, we could increase the amount we collect.  When I was younger, I had no clue.  I'm sure there are a lot of people who thinks that way too.  Let's all pull together and educate the public on how much those dimes can mean to a school!  ~Diane

Hi all!  I just agreed to coordinate the program for my daughter's middle school.  I've run into a snag already, though!  I don't have the school ID number to change the coordinator info on the website & can't seem to locate it.  Any suggestions on how I can obtain this info so I can get started???  Thanks!Cool

RE: Welcome to the new Box Tops Parent Community!

Thanks for the "Welcome".  I have been saving boxtops for several years thinking my son's old schoolwould take them.  He is now a year older & moved up a school that does want them!  I am very glad that Holly Harshman will take them.  I would like to know our coordinator and see if I can help out.
